Taranaki

Taranaki is situated on the west coast of the North Island of New Zealand. The dominant feature of the region is Mount Taranaki (also known as Mount Egmont), a volcanic mountain with a near-perfect cone. The largest city in the region is New Plymouth. The region covers an area of 7258 km² and has an estimated population of 105,500 (as of 2007).
