Waiuku

Waiuku is a small rural town in the Franklin district, right on the lower boundary of the Auckland Region. Waiuku is situated at the southern end of the Waiuku River which is an estuarial arm of the Manukau Harbour. It is approximately 64 kilometres southwest of Auckland city centre. Waiuku is a historic farming community. Attractions include the local heritage trail, museum, vintage railway and Tamakae Reserve with restored cottages.
