Arthur's Pass
153km northwest of Christchurch, Arthur's Pass connects Canterbury and Westland. The surrounding mountain area includes varied native vegetation and wildlife, including the kea (mountain parrot).
Named after Arthur Dobson, son of Canterbury surveyor.
